Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy explains how DocCertify subscriptions are billed, how to cancel, and when we issue refunds. It applies to all paid plans.
Free plan and trial
DocCertify has a free plan and a 14-day trial window. No payment details are required to issue documents on the free plan, so you can evaluate the product fully before paying anything. We would rather you found out DocCertify was wrong for you before being charged than after.
Billing
Paid plans are billed in advance, either monthly or annually depending on the plan you choose. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Prices shown at checkout include any applicable taxes where we are required to collect them.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing inside your account. No notice period, no cancellation fee, and no need to contact support first.
When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. After that it reverts to the free plan. You are not charged again.
Refunds
We do not provide refunds for the remaining portion of a billing period after you cancel, because you keep full access for the period you paid for. Partial or pro-rata refunds are not issued as a matter of course.
We do issue a refund in these situations:
- Duplicate charge. You were billed more than once for the same period. We refund the duplicate in full.
- Billing error on our side. You were charged the wrong amount, charged after cancelling, or charged for a plan you did not select. We refund the difference or the whole amount, as applicable.
- Sustained service failure. If DocCertify was unavailable for a prolonged period within your billing cycle and you were unable to use the service, contact us and we will make it right, which may include a refund or credit.
Outside these cases we may still issue a refund at our discretion. If you believe your situation warrants one, write to us and explain it. We would rather hear from you than have you raise a dispute with your bank.
How to request a refund
Email hello@doccertify.com from the address on the account, with the reason and the approximate date of the charge. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Once we process a refund, your bank or card issuer typically takes 5–10 business days to post it. That final leg is outside our control.
What happens to issued documents
Cancelling or downgrading does not invalidate documents you have already issued. Their public verification pages stay live and continue to verify. This is deliberate: a recipient holding one of your certificates should never lose the ability to prove it is genuine because of a billing change between you and us.
You will, however, return to the free plan's allowances for issuing new documents.
